City Girls World is a networking organization comprised of young professional women living and working in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. areas. On July 28, this group hosted a happy hour, attended by about fifty people, at the BRABO restaurant in Alexandria, Virginia's "Old Town" district.

Global Playground's Event Planner, Kirsten Gilbert, explained: "City Girls World had been wanting to do a charity happy hour for some time and chose Global Playground to be the first organization they worked with." She added, "What is unique about this event is the majority of the planning was actually done by City Girls. Global Playground was almost more an honored guest."

The event's primary purpose was to introduce the City Girls World network to Global Playground. Prior to the event, Christie Mims, City Girls World's co-founder, posted an interview with Doug Bunch, Global Playground's Chairman, on her organization's blog, which is read by a large audience and also integrated with social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. During the interview, Mr. Bunch focused on key aspects of Global Playground's mission.
